A note of Caution: Our planes are single-iron planes. As such there is nothing but a firmly set wedge to keep these irons from falling through the mouth of the plane. Please read and follow the instructions included with the plane.

Rabbet planes
Old Street Tool rabbet planes are made with square irons. We find square versions more versatile and easier to control than skewed irons.

Hollow and round planes - $3,850.00
A half set of Old Street Tool includes 9 matched pair of planes. These are usually purchased in the even sizes which include 1/8",1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 5/8", 3/4", 1", 1 1/4"and 1 1/2". The soles are profiled with concave and convex 60° arcs meaning that the sole width equals the radius of the profile. These can also be ordered in the odd sizes and those sizes include 1/16", 3/16", 5/16", 7/16", 9/16", 11/16", 7/8", 1 1/8", and 1 3/8". Usually bedded at 55° for hard woods but also available at 50°.

Snipes-bill planes - $585.00/pair
Snipes-bill planes are made in mirror image pairs and are used in conjunction with rabbet planes and hollows and rounds to produce moldings. With the combination of these planes it is quick and direct to produce about any profile of furniture length moldings. Old Street Tool snipes-bill planes are shoulder boxed with persimmon and are important companions to our hollow and round planes. We suggest a 50° bed angle for snipes-bill planes.

Side round planes- $615.00/pair
Side round planes from Old Street Tool cut 90° of arc with a 1/2" radius and are helpful when creating a recessed flat or coved area abutting another profile element. These planes come in left and right handed pairs.

Side bead planes - $295.00/each
Old Street Tool side bead planes cut a bead profile on the edge of stock and that profile suggests 180° of arc. The profile dimension is the whole profile including the quirk.

Ogee or Cyma Recta planes - $290.00/each
Ogee planes from Old Street Tool are made with spring and sized by the overall width of the profile. The cyma is composed of near 60° arcs.

Grecian ovolo planes - $290.00/each
Old Street Tool Grecian ovolo planes cut an elliptical arc and are sized by the depth of cut rather than the width of the profile. The width of cut is in parenthesis. These are also made with spring.
